Who is PA NEN?
The Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network (PA NEN) is a state-wide SNAP-Ed provider, operating a social marketing campaign, Be Healthy PA. We serve: SNAP-Ed recipients, SNAP-Ed eligible residents, and SNAP-Ed providers throughout PA. PA NEN supports communication among individuals and organizations engaged with improving nutrition in our communities. We work to ensure that effective, evidence-based, appropriate nutrition and physical activity resources primarily for low-income populations are available across the state.
Who are our members?
Our members include, nutrition educators, SNAP-Ed providers, health & wellness educators, community nutritionists, local chefs, anti-hunger advocates, science professionals, fitness professionals, healthcare professionals, clinical dietitians, Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN), Dietetic Technicians, culinary arts professionals, food sustainability experts, university faculty, Students of all ages, nurses, parents, food bank and pantry staff, and many others.
What is SNAP-Ed?
SNAP-Ed stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education. SNAP-Ed is a publically funded effort to help low-income people gain the skills the knowledge to engage in healthy behaviors like eating fresh fruits and vegetables, and staying physically active.
