School Breakfast Nutrition Education / Promotion

Schools that have good turnouts at school breakfast have markedly better school attendance rates, lower rates of tardiness, fewer discipline problems and fewer student visits to the school nurse. Students that have breakfast in the morning are more likely to sustain focus and achieve academic success.

The PA NEN is promoting Nutrition Education and greater participation in school breakfast in schools across Pennsylvania. As an additional component to the program, the Mid Atlantic Dairy Council provides coolers and coolers with carts as gifts to participating schools. Nineteen schools from five districts are participating in this program:
